26 May and 25 August 2025 are UK bank holidays. It’s up to students and supervisors to decide if they’d like to meet or work on those days.

Students must remain fully available for the entire viva week until their specific date and time are confirmed.

IRP start and end dates

All students must begin their IRP and submit each deliverable according to the specified deadlines. Early or late starts are not permitted. The deadlines for the project plan, final report, and code are fixed and non-negotiable. Deadline extensions may only be granted by the Senior Tutor in cases of approved mitigating circumstances.

Some external placements may continue beyond the IRP end date; however, students must complete all IRP-related work by the deadline and ensure timely submission of all deliverables. Any activities that take place after the official end date fall outside the scope of the IRP, and we are unable to provide any guidance or support beyond that date.

Writing workshop

There will be two identical Writing Workshop sessions—one in person and one online. Please attend only one. You will receive calendar invitations for both from the Centre for Academic English closer to the date.
